Our Client

Oberon Fields in total spans a nine-acre site that now provides a beautifully refurbished pavilion and renovated clock tower from 1931.

The site was redeveloped to become a hub for curriculum, enrichment, with teaching spaces for outdoor learning, performing arts and cookery as well as renovating the changing rooms for both boys and girls, plus, developing the capacity for extra-curricular and social events.

Project and Summary Scope of Works

Our project for our client Chatsworth Schools was to refurbish and restore the Oberon Fields Sports Pavilion both internally and externally.

The goal was to carry out area works to a specification that would allow the school to start using the building to its full potential and beyond.

Precise Scope of Works

The scope of internal project works carried out were;

To make structural repairs to the walls
To install additional joists below the wooden hall floor
To install new toilets, showers and disabled facilities
To install a new heating system
To install new solid wood flooring
To install new kitchen preparation areas
To upgrade all of the existing lighting to LED's
To supply and install non-slip flooring

The scope of external works carried out were;

To supply and install a new GRP roofing system to the viewing gallery
To make repairs to the tiled roof
To replace the flat roof and sky lights
To decorate all external elevations
To renovate and restore the original clock tower from 1931
To install safety railings
To install external lighting and security lights

The End Result

Taking into great consideration the aim and purpose of the project for the school itself and its additional goal for attracting external sports groups and social events: We revived the Oberon Fields Pavilion to successfully work for the highlighted educational needs along with offering an historic sports building with facilities and space to be enjoyed by the wider community.
