Splendid Care is a West Sussex care provider delivering personalised residential and specialist care, with a strong emphasis on dignity, independence and individual wellbeing. The organisation operates across West Sussex, with its Warnham base near Horsham forming part of its growing care provision in the region.
In a care organisation, the spaces behind the frontline service matter too. Meeting rooms provide somewhere for teams to communicate, plan and make decisions, as well as creating an appropriate environment for conversations with colleagues, families and other stakeholders.
That made the quality and functionality of this space an important part of Splendid Care's wider working environment.
TB Fit Out was appointed to refurbish an existing meeting room at Splendid Care's Warnham premises near Horsham, transforming the space into a smarter, more considered environment suitable for the needs of a modern care organisation.
The brief was about more than simply improving how the room looked.
The finished space needed to feel professional yet welcoming, creating an environment where people could meet comfortably, communicate effectively and focus on the conversation taking place.
For a healthcare and care provider, this is particularly important. The quality of a workplace should support the people responsible for delivering the organisation's service, not create barriers to the way they work.
The refurbishment focused on giving the existing room a renewed purpose and creating a more polished, cohesive environment.
By bringing together the room's finishes, layout and overall presentation, TB Fit Out was able to turn an existing functional space into a meeting environment that feels more considered and appropriate for the organisation using it.
Rather than changing a space simply for the sake of change, effective commercial and healthcare refurbishment should start with how that space needs to perform.
In a meeting room, that means creating somewhere that supports concentration and communication, feels comfortable for longer discussions and presents the right impression to anyone entering the room.
It is a relatively small space within the wider property. But it can have a disproportionately important role in the working day.
Meeting rooms are often where important conversations happen.
They can be used for operational planning, team meetings, training, interviews, management discussions and conversations with external professionals or families. Within a care organisation, some of those discussions may also require greater privacy, focus and sensitivity.
The physical environment cannot determine the outcome of those conversations, but it can create better conditions in which to have them.
A well-planned meeting room can help to:
It is a good example of why refurbishment should not always be measured by the scale of the project. Sometimes, improving one frequently used space can make a meaningful difference to the people who rely on it.
The completed meeting room provides Splendid Care with a fresh, professional and welcoming environment that better supports the needs of its teams and visitors.
For the client, the transformation makes better use of an existing part of the property while raising the quality of the day-to-day working environment. For its people, it provides a dedicated space where they can come together, communicate and concentrate away from the demands of the wider workplace.
The project also demonstrates the value of taking a considered approach to healthcare and commercial refurbishment. Not every project requires wholesale transformation. Understanding which spaces have the greatest influence on people's everyday experience can allow organisations to target investment where it will have genuine value.
As a refurbishment contractor working across Horsham, West Sussex and the wider South East, TB Fit Out delivers projects ranging from individual workplace improvements such as this through to larger office, educational and healthcare refurbishments.
For Splendid Care, the result is straightforward but important: an existing meeting room transformed into a space better suited to the people, conversations and decisions it needs to support.
