Paladone is a product design and manufacturing business known for creating consumer products, gifts and merchandise. For a company whose products are central to its identity, having the right environment in which to showcase them can play an important role in how customers experience the brand.
Paladone needed more than additional display space. They wanted to make better use of an existing area within their premises and create a professional showroom where products could be presented effectively and customers could be welcomed comfortably.
TB Fit Out was tasked with transforming disused loading bays into a high-specification commercial showroom for Paladone.
The existing space had previously served an entirely different purpose, presenting an opportunity to unlock value from an underused part of the building rather than look elsewhere for additional showroom accommodation.
The brief was to create a polished, functional environment where Paladone could showcase its product ranges to customers while providing the comfort and supporting facilities expected from a professional visitor space.
This required much more than a cosmetic refurbishment. The former loading bays needed to be comprehensively adapted, with new building services, fire-rated construction, lighting, flooring and customer facilities working together to create an entirely new environment.
As the fit out contractor, TB Fit Out coordinated the different elements required to convert the industrial loading bays into a finished customer-facing showroom.
The project works included:
Bringing these elements together turned what had been functional loading space into a completely different type of environment: one designed around products, customers and the Paladone brand experience.
One of the most significant aspects of this project is the change in purpose.
The loading bays were no longer required for their original use, but that did not mean the space had lost its value. Through considered commercial refurbishment and fit out, Paladone was able to repurpose the existing footprint and give it a valuable new role within the business.
Where there was once an industrial back-of-house environment, there is now a high-specification showroom designed to put Paladone's products at the centre of the customer experience.
The controlled lighting is particularly important in a showroom setting, giving the client greater control over product presentation. HVAC makes the environment comfortable for customers and staff, while the kitchenette and toilet facilities mean the showroom can function as a more self-contained visitor destination.
It demonstrates an important principle of effective commercial space planning and refurbishment: businesses do not always need more space. Sometimes, the opportunity lies in making existing space work considerably harder.
A successful showroom needs to do more than display products. It should make it easier for customers to explore a range, understand the brand and spend meaningful time with the people behind it.
For Paladone, the new showroom provides several practical benefits:
The impact therefore goes beyond the physical refurbishment. The new environment gives Paladone another way to engage customers with its products and make their visit to the business feel considered from arrival through to presentation.
The completed commercial showroom fit out has given Paladone a dedicated space in which its products can take centre stage.
Converting disused loading bays into a customer-facing showroom required the existing area to be reconsidered from the ground up. New HVAC, electrical services, controlled lighting, fire-rated construction, flooring and customer amenities have collectively transformed an industrial space into a polished and practical commercial environment.
For the client, it means existing floorspace is now delivering greater value. For Paladone's customers, it means a more comfortable and professional environment in which to experience the company's products.
For TB Fit Out, the project demonstrates what considered design and build, commercial refurbishment and fit out can achieve when the starting point is not an empty office or conventional retail unit, but an existing space that has outlived its original purpose.
The result is not simply a refurbished loading bay. It is a space with an entirely new commercial purpose — designed around Paladone's products, its people and, importantly, its customers.
